About the Role
As the Clinical Pharmacist, you'll provide expert clinical pharmacy services predominantly within our Critical Care team, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines for critically ill patients. You'll offer specialist advice on medication management while supporting the development of quality improvement and medication safety initiatives. Working closely with the multidisciplinary either the ICU or ED team, you'll strengthen relationships and contribute to patient care. You'll also support clinical governance by developing and reviewing medication-related guidelines, policies, and procedures. This position may also work within our Emergency Department and other clinical areas in the hospital.
Additionally, you'll engage in ongoing professional development and training, contributing to the education of both pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams on critical care and medicines-related matters.

Te Whatu Ora Taranaki employs approximately 350 allied health professionals across its services, and we're growing our inpatient physical health rehabilitation team by 60%. You will be joining a friendly team that is diverse in skills and experience, a team that welcomes collaboration, and that values the contribution of each team member. Our team provides rehabilitation care across acute and non-acute inpatient wards as part of Allied Health, and we're happy to support other teams to ensure their success.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor of Pharmacy (NZ) or equivalent, as well as:
- Hold a valid and current NZ APC, or be willing to get one
- At least 3 years previous experience in hospital pharmacy
- Excellent communication skills
- A strong focus on medication safety and patient care
