About the Role
We have an opportunity available for a motivated pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Service based at Whangarei Hospital. This role is unique and offers a chance for you to improve health outcomes of Northland patients, following increased national funding for expanded access to cancer medicines.
This pharmacist role will provide a comprehensive, effective and safe pharmaceutical service to patients and staff, primarily supporting the Cancer and Blood Service in the treatment of their patients across Northland.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Whangarei Hospital is a medium sized (approximately 260 beds) secondary hospital located in Whangarei (approximately 2 hours north of Auckland), unique in terms of the diverse, high-needs population we serve. Our service is committed to providing excellent patient-centred care and achieving equitable health outcomes through collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation.
With a talented team of approximately 20 pharmacists, we provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatient areas across Medicine, Surgery, Older People's Health Rehabilitation, Critical Care, Children's Health, Mental Health, Infectious Diseases Antimicrobial Stewardship, Cancer and Blood services and Renal services.

About you
- Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a current Annual Practising Certificate from the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand. If you are applying from outside New Zealand, please tell us the registration route that applies, and what stage of that process you are currently at.
- Whilst not essential, a postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical area and/or previous hospital pharmacy experience is highly desirable.

What we can offer you
Remuneration for this role ranges from $82,856 - $116,390 ($39.83 - $55.96 per hour) for full time equivalent, dependent on experience as per the PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific Technical Collective Agreement.
Additionally, we will provide you with individualised support and ongoing learning opportunities, and welcome applications from early career pharmacists, pharmacists returning to the profession and pharmacists with no previous hospital experience, as well as experienced hospital pharmacists and those with special interests.
