We are looking for Qualified Pharmacists to join our team on a permanent basis. These are exciting and varied opportunities working within an experienced team who are all passionate about the health and wellbeing of the Canterbury community.
Our wide range of pharmacy services is provided by a positive, friendly and inclusive team of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants and administrative staff. We pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding service in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

These roles are varied, encompassing rotations throughout clinical areas across the Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora hospital sites in Christchurch: Christchurch Hospital, Burwood Hospital and Hillmorton Hospital. As a tertiary health care provider there are many opportunities for exposure to specialist areas of work such as chemotherapy supply, oncology, paediatrics and mental health.

The department provides regular continuing education and numerous other training opportunities.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Provision of a team based full clinical pharmacy service including medication reconciliation, therapeutic drug monitoring and answering medicines information enquiries
- Involvement in interdisciplinary education
- Supervision, training and support of technicians, interns and students
- Participation in the on-call service
- Medication supply including dispensing, sterile production and cytotoxic ordering
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic pharmacists, with a good work ethic, who enjoy working as part of a team, have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong desire to learn. Hospital experience is preferred but not mandatory. If you are considering a switch to hospital and have a willingness to learn, you will find you are well supported with your transition.
To be successful in this role, your skills will include:
- Well-developed communication and time-management skills
- Excellent computer skills
- The ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
- A flexible and motivated approach to your work
- You must be a qualified and NZ registered pharmacist
- Hospital experience is preferable
